BEHIND the scenes of Donald Trump’s high-stakes summit with President Xi Jinping, three top female aides were working tirelessly to ensure crunch talks between the global superpowers went off without a hitch.
While Trump’s CEO-heavy delegation and family members took center stage; an ex-beauty queen, a cancer-survivor aide lovingly named the “human printer,” and a staffer the president has called a beautiful photographer were on hand to problem solve.
With much-loved White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt still on maternity leave after welcoming her new baby girl last week, the China trip offered ample opporunity for lesser-known aides Natalie Harp, Anna Kelly, and Margo Martin to find their feet.
And with Melania also sitting the China trip out, Trump’s Truth Trio offered a much-needed glam break from the suits.
The trio have all worked with Trump for years, keeping him up to date on the latest news and managing his social media accounts, to show his authentic self to the American people.
Martin, in particular, shared clips of the president throughout the trip on her X account, showing Trump and Xi tour Zhongnanhai, a heavily guarded compound where Chinese leaders live and work, and the two leaders shaking hands.
Anna Kelly
Kelly, the principal deputy press secretary, works alongside White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
She was seen as a possible frontrunner to take over for Leavitt while she was on maternity leave before it was announced that Trump and his cabinet members woud mostly handle their own press briefings.
The 29-year-old has served on several Republican campaigns, working as a communications director for state party groups and the US House of Representatives.
She is originally from Fairfax, Virginia, and once won a beauty pageant, taking home the 2019 Miss State Fair of Virginia crown.
In the pageant, she ran on the personal platform “End the Apathy Epidemic: Promoting Youth Political Engagement,” according to the FairFax Times.
“My generation stands in an incredible position of power. In today’s polarized political climate, it is our job to step up to the plate and work to ensure the government we receive is a good one,” she told the outlet.
Kelly earned a political science degree with a minor in community and civic engagement from Auburn University in 2017 and a master’s degree in political management from George Washington University.
Natalie Harp
Another administration staff member on board the trip was Harp, an executive assistant to the president.
Harp earned the nickname the “human printer” because she carries a wireless printer with her to give Trump news stories on the go, revealed Alex Isenstadt, the author of Revenge: The Inside Story of Trump’s Return to Power.
She began her role as an executive assistant in January 2025, but before that, she was a member of Trump’s communication team in 2022.
The California native is also a survivor of bone cancer and a former television presenter.
Sources told the Wall Street Journal that Harp is the person behind most of Trump’s Truth Social posts.
She reportedly complies screenshots of social media posts from fans and allies praising Trump, condemning Democrats or insulting Trump’s opponents for him to review.
Once Trump approves the content, over physically printed-out drafts, Harp logs in to his Truth Social and posts them during all hours of the day, on weekends and holidays.
White House officials told the WSJ that Trump does post messages on the platform as well.
Margo Martin
Lastly, Martin, a communications advisor and special assistant to Trump was seen on the trip to China.
She is the one who mans the president’s social media pages and by his side capturing Trump’s moments on an iPhone camera, according to the Washington Post.
Trump and Martin have traveled so much together over the last few years that some have mistaken her for his wife, Melania Trump.
The Oklahoma native and avid sports fan previously served as a press assistant in Trump’s first term and worked alongside him after he left office in January 2021.
Martin moved to Palm Beach, Florida, afterwards to help with his social media presence, and Trump once called her “the most beautiful photographer in the world.”
Leavitt one said Martin “has the trust of the president.”
“She’s able to really see the inner workings of his every day and share that with the American public,” Leavitt said.
When Trump visited Asia in 2025, Martin’s posts of the president gathered millions of views on her personal X account in addition to 222million views on the @TeamTrump Instagram account.
One of Martin’s recordings of Trump’s book interviews was also used as evidence in the investigation into his handling of classified documents.
She was subpoenaed before a federal grand jury before the case was dismissed.
Trump’s China trip concluded on Friday after the president and Xi Jinping held key talks in one of Beijing’s most secretive compounds.
The Iran war was among the most-discussed topics with Trump claiming he and Xi agreed it must come to an end.
He also claimed Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.
He added that both nations want to reopen the Strait of Hormuz as soon as possible.
Xi is “not going to be much more patient” with the twisted mullahs, Trump warned.
