Former First Daughter Ivanka Trump attended a historic state dinner in honor of King Charles’ first visit to the United States, but her blue Reem Acra gown sparked a divided reaction across social media.
Ivanka Trump is no stranger to compliments for her appearance at high-profile events, but her choice of a blue ensemble at a state dinner honoring King Charles’ first visit to the United States sparked a divided response.
The 44-year-old, who stepped back from her senior advisory position during her father Donald Trump’s first term, made a rare public appearance at the landmark dinner on April 28, while stepmother Melania Trump broke protocol with her shocking gown.
As her father appeared to prepare to treat the monarch’s visit as a way to secure several deals with his “wheeler-dealer persona,” many others zeroed in on Ivanka’s outfit selection at the prestigious occasion. It comes after Trump got caught on camera doing a shocking act to Melania at an inappropriate moment.
She styled her blonde hair in curls swept over one shoulder, pairing the look with bold, smoky eye makeup, reports the Irish Star.
Despite typically drawing near-universal admiration for her fashion choices, Ivanka found herself on the receiving end of criticism directed at both her appearance and her personality.
“Pretty, but Melania outshines her by a mile!” a third remarked.
Nevertheless, a significant number of admirers considered the look among her finest, heaping on the kind of praise her outfits routinely attract. “Her gown is gorgeous. I love periwinkle blue,” one person said, while another wrote, “Lovely! This sweet blue seems to be the color this Spring!
“Ivanka always looks fabulous! She’s as beautiful as a princess,” another shared, while a fourth mused, “Ivanka never misses. I’ve never seen her look less than stellar.”
It marked her first political appearance since her father’s State of the Union address in February, though her absence has been conspicuous at multiple events as she adopts a more low-key role during his second term.
Though not a political occasion, she was notably missing from the premiere of Melania’s documentary in January.
Likewise, Melania was nowhere to be seen when Ivanka and other female family members gathered for Bettina Anderson’s bridal shower on April 12. Ivanka, Lara, and Tiffany Trump were all in attendance to celebrate the socialite’s forthcoming marriage to Donald Trump Jr.
These conspicuous absences have fueled renewed speculation about a rift between Melania and Ivanka, something neither woman has directly acknowledged.
Melania discussed her relationship with her stepchildren in her 2024 memoir, Melania, noting that when she married their father, they had mostly reached the age of independence.
“Stepping into a marriage with Donald, I found myself navigating the intricate dynamics of his big family,” she wrote at the time, “It demanded flexibility and openness, but each moment was a chance to connect, learn, and grow in this new environment.
“My approach to building relationships with Donald’s children has always been grounded in love and respect,” she added.
“I recognize their individuality, understanding that, as their stepmother, my role is not to replace their mothers but to nurture a supportive and amicable connection. This perspective has enabled me to cultivate meaningful relationships with each child in a unique way,” she continued.
“While I may not agree with every opinion or choice expressed by Donald’s grown children, nor do I align with all of Donald’s decisions, I acknowledge that different viewpoints are a natural aspect of human relationships.”
It came after a strange bulge was spotted in Trump’s pants – leading to an alarming accusation.
