The Celebrity Traitors franchise is back – but this time, with an incredible twist. The BBC has reportedly been forced to double its £1 million budget for its second series, making it the most star-studded and lavish season yet!
When the cast was revealed in a teaser trailer last Saturday, it was clear this season would be nothing short of extraordinary. The lineup features a who’s who of A-listers, including Maya Jama, Richard E Grant, Jerry Hall, Ross Kemp, Michael Sheen, and many more! These household names will be heading to a Scottish castle, where the drama, deceit, and competition will unfold in the most glamorous way possible.

The budget hike was evident right from the start. Last year, contestants traveled via train and minibus – but not this time. This year, the stars are arriving in private jets and chauffeur-driven cars. The BBC is clearly rolling out the red carpet for this all-star cast, as they’ve gone above and beyond to accommodate the demands of these big names.

Why the Huge Budget Boost?
According to a source close to the production, the BBC had no choice but to cater to the lavish expectations of the stars. “We had to up the budget because of the high-profile names involved. Their teams are used to top-tier treatment, especially those who work in the U.S.,” the insider reveals. The stars are accustomed to the glamorous life and expect nothing less than first-class service.
Maya Jama’s Massive Pay Cut for the Show
One of the most interesting parts of this season’s cast is Maya Jama. While she’s known for her hosting duties on Love Island, the 31-year-old star has reportedly taken a huge pay cut to appear on Celebrity Traitors. It’s said that Maya slashed her usual £800K paycheque down to just £40,000 – a whopping £760,000 less than what she typically commands.
Why the drastic cut? Well, Maya is a huge fan of the show. According to sources, she fell in love with the show while watching it at home with her boyfriend, footballer Rúben Dias. “She’s excited to be part of the series and can’t wait to show off her skills in deception,” the insider adds. Plus, after filming in the Scottish Highlands, she’ll head straight to Majorca to begin Love Island filming for the summer. Talk about a busy schedule!
A Castle, Chauffeurs, and Extra Security!

The increased budget isn’t just for the luxury travel and exclusive accommodations. The BBC has also ramped up security to ensure the stars are safe and the show’s secrets are kept under wraps before it airs later this year. The castle, located in the picturesque Scottish Highlands, will be the perfect setting for Celebrity Traitors’ high-stakes gameplay – and fans can expect even more twists, tension, and deception than ever before.
The Stars Are Arriving!
The Celebrity Traitors cast isn’t holding back this year. Big names from both British and international TV are making their way to Ardross Castle. Along with Maya Jama, TV legends like Ross Kemp, Julie Hesmondhalgh, and James Blunt have already touched down in Inverness, preparing to head to the castle for filming. Comedians Rob Beckett, Joe Lycett, Miranda Hart, and James Acaster are also in the mix, alongside Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne Pinnock. Each one of them will be playing the ultimate game of deception – but only one can emerge victorious!

Expect the Unexpected!
The stakes are higher than ever, and with an all-star cast, a massive budget, and a guaranteed thrill ride of drama and intrigue, Celebrity Traitors season two is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about reality TV events of the year. The contestants are ready to lie, cheat, and deceive their way to the prize – and with so many A-listers onboard, this season promises to be wild from start to finish.
