BBC Radio 2 legend Bob Harris has bravely shared an update on his ongoing battle with cancer, revealing that his condition has worsened. The much-loved broadcaster, who has been a staple of British radio for decades, is battling a major setback after his prostate cancer spread to his upper spine.
In an uplifting new photo shared with fans, 80-year-old Bob is all smiles, giving a thumbs up while sitting at home in a gown. Despite the devastating news, he radiates positivity, writing: “Hiya Folks! I hope you’re all ok. Sending you all my love.”
Bob, who is currently recovering at home after a stint in the hospital, took to Instagram to express his gratitude for the support he’s received during these challenging times. Fans were quick to flood his post with heartfelt messages: “Sending all the love your way,” and “Looking great, Bob. Keep up the good work!”
The broadcaster, who was first diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2007, had been managing the disease with treatment. However, last month he revealed that his cancer had spread from his prostate to his upper spine. “It was really frightening news,” Bob shared, explaining that he immediately began radiotherapy to help control the situation. After two weeks in hospital, he’s now back home and on the road to recovery.
Despite his health struggles, Bob remains focused on his recovery, even sharing a picture of himself walking with a stick and spending quality time outdoors with his son. “I’m feeling stronger every day,” he says.
