Damson Idris has signed on to lead and executive produce a new Netflix series titled The Lords’ Day.

The series synopsis reads: On the State Opening of Parliament, British spy Harry Jones (Damson Idris) finds himself inside the iconic building amidst a lockdown. As the siege escalates, loyalties are tested and selfless sacrifices are made, leading to a desperate fight for survival where not everyone will emerge alive. Can Harry use his skills and training to be the country’s saviour?

The Lords’ Day has been adapted from Michael Dobbs’s novel of the same name. Dobbs is best known as the author of House of Cards. 

British Spy Thriller 'The Lords' Day' Coming to Netflix with Damson Idris -  Episode

Jane Tranter and Dan McCulloch are executive producers for Bad Wolf. Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley (Spooks, Humans, Better) will serve as lead writers and executive producers. Ben Chanan (The Capture) will serve as director and executive producer.

The series will run 6 episodes, and production is said to begin soon in the UK.

Idris was last seen in Apple’s F1 movie. The British-Nigerian actor rose to prominence with his run as Franklin in FX’s Snowfall. He will next appear in Gina Prince-Bythewood’s Children of Blood and Bone for Paramount and has signed on to portray the legendary jazz musician Miles Davis in the upcoming film Miles & Juliette, directed by Bill Pohlad.
