In an emotional interview on This Morning, Craig Charles broke down as he criticized ITV for “watering down” the shocking and traumatic row between Adam Thomas and Jimmy Bullard on I’m A Celebrity. The heated exchange, which took place during a Bushtucker Trial last year, left Craig visibly upset as he explained how the incident was too intense to be aired in its full form.

“I have to say, they watered down the Jimmy Bullard incident. It was unbroadcastable as it was. It was deeply traumatic, and really upsetting,” Craig shared, his voice trembling. He described how Adam was so wound up, he seemed ready to attack Jimmy, and how their argument escalated with the use of harsh language.

Adam, 37, and Jimmy, 47, had been paired up during a trial where Jimmy refused to participate, leaving Adam to take on the challenge. Adam’s frustration boiled over, leading to a fiery confrontation. Craig revealed that Adam’s behavior was so aggressive it was impossible for the network to air the full scene.

“They had to water down what viewers saw, but they didn’t water down our reactions, which made people think, ‘Oh, it wasn’t that bad, why are they picking on Adam?’ But we weren’t picking on him,” Craig explained.

The Red Dwarf actor continued to express his frustration with ITV’s decision to censor the full extent of the row, further stating that the show’s editing made it seem like Adam was unfairly targeted. He also discussed how the campmates were unaware of the emotional toll Adam was experiencing, and how ITV didn’t intervene, even though the footage had become increasingly concerning.David and Adam had a fractious relationship during their time together in the South African jungle, which was filmed in September last year

Viewers have raised accusations of bullying, especially with former boxer David Haye’s role in the feud. Craig recalled the tension between Adam and David, stating that the “banter” between them crossed a line. He said that he and his campmates had no idea Adam was affected by it until the final morning when it became clear that David’s behavior had become toxic.

Craig went on to explain that he never saw Adam’s emotional struggle while in the camp because Adam had kept it to himself. He said Adam never spoke up, as he didn’t want to appear weak. The actor said, “We didn’t know how bad it was until the final morning when I realized things were turning into bullying.”

Craig was joined by Sir Mo Farah and Harry Redknapp on This Morning, but Adam’s absence was noticeable. As emotions ran high, Craig’s voice wavered as he reflected on the situation and how it had played out in the media.

As the interview unfolded, Adam was seen out in London with his wife, Caroline, where the pair appeared tense. Adam, who has since admitted to being emotionally affected by his time in the jungle, reflected on his regret for his explosive confrontation with Jimmy, describing how it left him feeling heartbroken and upset.

In the midst of the ongoing debate about the I’m A Celebrity “bullying” saga, Adam shared how he has sought therapy to deal with the emotional toll. “It was like being back in school again,” he said, emotionally admitting that the verbal assaults from his fellow campmates left him feeling “broken.” Despite Adam’s struggles, he stated that he never let it define him.

With the show’s dramatic moments still fresh in the minds of viewers, the situation surrounding Adam, Jimmy, and David Haye continues to spark controversy. Many are questioning whether ITV should have stepped in earlier and whether the full, uncensored footage should have been aired.
