This news comes as a double delight for Andrew Castle, who became a grandfather for the first time in 2021 when his youngest daughter, Claudia, and her husband, cricketer Will Tavare, welcomed a son, Louis Magnus. Andrew was overjoyed at the arrival of his first grandchild and even jokingly began a playful rivalry between tennis and cricket for the child’s sporting future.

Along with his wife, Sophia, Andrew is a proud father to two daughters, Claudia and Georgina. While Georgina is well-established in the world of musical theatre, Andrew’s fame as a tennis player and TV presenter is equally impressive. He was once the British No. 1 in tennis in the mid-1980s, representing Great Britain at both the 1988 Seoul and 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games.

After retiring from tennis in 1992, he became a household name as the main anchor for GMTV for over a decade, interviewing everyone from political leaders to pop stars. Today, Andrew continues to work as part of the BBC’s tennis commentary team, leading coverage for every Men’s Singles Final since 2003, and hosts the weekend breakfast show on LBC, tackling news and politics.

Georgina and Simon’s love story began when they both performed in stage adaptations of Elf—the same comedy film that inspired their stage roles in 2022 and 2023.

Congratulations to Andrew, Georgina, and Simon on the wonderful news of the growing family! A new chapter in their lives is about to begin with the arrival of their baby girl.
