A contestant on Jeopardy! is continuing a consistent run that’s placing him among the show’s most successful players.

Jamie Ding, a New Jersey resident, secured his 25th consecutive win during the Thursday, April 16 episode, extending a streak that has steadily moved him up the program’s all-time rankings. With the latest victory, Ding now sits among the top five contestants with the longest winning streaks in Jeopardy! history, according to The Record.

During the game, Ding finished well ahead of fellow contestants Andrew Younger and Erin Adams. He earned $27,600 heading into Final Jeopardy, more than triple Younger’s $6,200 and Adams’ $3,800 totals. The final round added to his lead. Host Ken Jennings posed the clue, “In 2005, a church begun in 1882 became the tallest building in this city.” Ding responded correctly with, “What is Barcelona,” after wagering $7,400. The correct answer brought his total for the game to $35,000 and secured another win. It comes after it was recently revealed that a new Jeopardy! spinoff is in the works.

With 25 consecutive victories, Ding is now fifth on the show’s all-time list for longest streaks. He is closing in on James Holzhauer, who won 32 straight games in 2019 before his run ended.

Other high-ranking contestants include Matt Amodio and Amy Schneider, who recorded 38 and 40 consecutive wins, respectively, during regular season play.

Jennings, who has hosted the show since 2021, still holds the top spot with a 74-game winning streak from his time as a contestant.

Ding has also posted strong individual game performances. His Coryat score, a metric that measures a player’s performance without factoring in Daily Doubles or Final Jeopardy, exceeded Jennings’ during a March 17 episode, when Ding reached $42,400.

Across his 25-game run, Ding has accumulated total winnings of $702,000. That places him seventh on the list of highest-earning contestants in regular season play.

He is currently just behind fellow New Jersey native Cris Pannullo, who earned $748,286 during a 21-game streak in 2022.

Ding has also moved into 12th place on the show’s all-time money list, further solidifying his position among top competitors. Outside the show, Ding works for the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency.

His continued success on Jeopardy! ensures he will appear in the Tournament of Champions, which takes place at the end of the season and features the year’s top-performing contestants.
