Moment huge blaze burns in London as 150 firefighters battle warehouse inferno & apartment block evacuated
THIS is the moment huge red flames engulfed a warehouse in north London as thick clouds of smoke billow into the night sky.
More than 150 firefighters furiously battled the blazing inferno last night as it ripped through Staples Corner in Golders Green.
Footage captured by locals showed thick plumes of smoke billow into the sky as hellish flames raged into the night.
Twenty-five fire engines and 150 firefighters scrambled to the scene confirmed the London Fire Brigade on X.
Around 70 people have been forced to evacuate a nearby apartment block to escape the hellish blaze.
Firefighters urged local residents to keep doors and windows closed as “a significant amount of smoke” billows through the region.
The fire has engulfed a two-floor multi-use warehouse on Oxgate Lane.
London Fire Brigade said it received more than 70 calls reporting the horror blaze.
Four turntable ladders have been extended over the fire to douse the flames from above.
Firefighters from Hendon, Willesden Green and West Hampstead have been mobilised to extinguish the fire.
Surrounding roads have been shut down with Oxgate Lane completely closed and Edgware Road shut between the junctions of Dollis Hill and Staples Corner.
The cause of the inferno is not yet known.
