A terrifying image featuring the Golders Green suspect has been shared. The man in the image is casually walking down the street, carrying a blade. Two men, aged 34 and 76, were stabbed in a terror incident that unfolded in just four minutes in Golders Green, North London, on Wednesday morning.

Sir Mark Rowley, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, said the 45-year-old suspect has a history of serious violence and mental problems. He was tasered and arrested by two police officers after the double stabbing at around 11:15am, which has now been declared a terrorist attack.

The two victims are in a stable condition in hospital after the horror incident, which has prompted calls for tougher action on antisemitic violence.

Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis named them as Nachman Moshe ben Chaya Sarah and Moshe Ben Baila in a social media post.

Disturbing footage shared online appears to show a man waiting at a bus stop putting on a kippah before an attacker lunges at him.

Another clip shows two police officers facing down the knife man in the middle of the road, before using a taser and kicking him repeatedly in the head.

Sir Mark, who faced calls to resign from members of the public as he made a statement at the scene, said the officers were “nothing short of extraordinary”.

“They confronted a man they believed to be a terrorist, who refused to show his hands, who was violent and continued to pose a clear threat,” he continued.

“These were not armed officers, and they feared that he was carrying an explosive device.

“Using only their training, their courage and their tasers, they managed to detain him whilst he continued to try and attack and stab them.”

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood said the Government would “strain every sinew” to keep Jewish people safe, and a Cobra meeting has been called following the stabbing.
