Crime drama enthusiasts simply cannot get enough of this “nail biting” binge-worthy series. First broadcast five years ago, this “lethal” Irish crime thriller follows a close-knit Dublin family in the wake of a young boy’s tragic death.

This shocking event sets off a catastrophic chain of events, ultimately sparking a bitter gangland conflict with an international drug cartel. “But the Kinsellas have something the cartel does not, the unbreakable bonds of blood and family”, the official logline adds.

The two-series drama in question is none other than Kin, available to stream completely free on BBC iPlayer.

Praising the show as an “edge of your seat drama” on IMDb, one viewer wrote: “Absolutely brilliant, a true adaptation of a crime family in Dublin, nail biting Absolutely terrific TV.”

A second concurred: “Utter brilliance from the storyline to the acting. Not a single bad word to say about it.”

Further viewers labelled Kin a “masterpiece” and a “gang saga for the age”.

Fellow watchers declared it “miles better” than the award-winning drama Gangs of London, starring Peaky Blinders actor Joe Cole.

“Love this Irish family gangster revenge series. Not as needlessly bloody as Gangs of London it is subtly as lethal”, one fan remarked.

Taking to Reddit, another agreed: “Kin is miles better to be honest”, while others portrayed it as more “raw and realistic”.

Kin boasts an impressive roster of Irish talent, including Peaky Blinders star Emmett J Scanlan, Small Things Like These actress Claire Dunne, Daredevil’s Charlie Cox, and The Commitments legend Maria Doyle Kennedy.

Even more thrillingly, Kin has been officially confirmed for a third series, set to air on RTE and BBC One, with reports suggesting it could make its debut sometime in 2027.

Kin is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
