PARENTS have branded Department for Education videos with Gemma Collins âtone-deafâ â as she has only one qualification.
The clips show the brash ex-Towie star, 45, marching into an office to discuss learning with the Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson.
In one instalment, she prattles on about King Richard III and states ânot many youngsters would know who he is todayâ.
The âGCâ, who left school at 16 with a single GCSE â a G in maths â goes on: âWhatever youâre learning, make sure you concentrate because youâre going to be taking it into your future career.â
The videos have been ridiculed by mums and dads, with one joking: âI hadnât thought of just saying âconcentrateâ. All will now be well.â
A second wrote: âWhatâs next? Joey Essex visits the Ministry of Defence?â
A third said: âItâs tone-deaf.â
Another said: âMany of us have had to fight every step of the way for our children to stay in school, for EHCPs, for specialist placements, and simply for our childrenâs needs to be recognised and understood.
âThe SEND system is exhausting, adversarial, and often leaves families feeling unheard and unsupported.
âSo to see the Department for Education use a celebrity with no lived experience of navigating this system feels disconnected from the reality SEN families face every day.â
It comes as the Government prepares to unveil V levels â vocational qualifications equivalent to A levels but with a focus on practical skills.
The first V Levels are slated to be available from September 2027 in Digital, Education and Early Years, and Finance and Accounting.
The DfE said Collins was not paid for the videos.
