We appreciate that we overuse the phrase ‘reality TV phenomenon’ here at heat Towers, but Netflixâs At Home with The Furys is truly that â and given that series three has been given the green light just weeks after the second series dropped earlier this month (three years after series one debuted), clearly Netflix bosses are aware theyâve got a winner on their hands.
And fair â it’s chaotic, oddly cosy and real real.
The show serves up a no-holds-barred peek into the everyday chaos of boxer Tyson Fury, his iconic wife Paris, and their seven kids â with plenty of extended-family pop-ins that make it feel like youâve accidentally wandered into the worldâs most famous living room.
Tysonâs dad John is a constant presence, and his half-brother (and Love Island legend) Tommy Fury drops in again, too.
But thereâs one key person missing from the Fury TV universe thus far â and fans have definitely clocked it. Tysonâs mum, Amber Fury, has never taken part in the series. Not a cameo. Not a quick hello. Nothing. But why?
Amber is famously private and shuns the spotlight that follows her son and his family. She doesnât appear on the show, isnât mentioned by the family on screen, and chooses to live a regular life away from the world of celebrity. Very Amy Osbourne during The Osbournes heyday.
Tyson himself has spoken about just how determined his mum is to stay out of public view. He recently told The Irish Mirror, ‘I looked on Google the other day and thereâs not one picture of my mother on the internet. Thatâs crazy isnât it? She has never been to one of my boxing fights, amateur or professional⊠Sheâs a private person.’
Hence why we have no pics of Amber to include in this article, FYI…
Heâs also written about it in his autobiography Behind The Mask, admitting his mum doesnât fully grasp the scale of his fame â including recalling a moment shortly after his fight with Deontay Wilder when he took her shopping in Manchester and she couldnât understand why crowds kept stopping him for snaps. Tyson wrote he then explained he was the heavyweight champion of the world which was ‘very special’.
Amber is no longer with Tysonâs dad, John. The former couple had four children together: Tyson, Shane, Hugh, and their daughter Romana, who tragically died as a baby.
After their split, John married his second wife, Chantal, with whom he has two sons â one of which is Tommy.
