A TEENAGE girl has been left fighting for her life after an incident with a “stolen digger” as two other teenagers have been arrested.
Police were called to reports of a young woman being seriously injured in an incident involving a “small articulated loading vehicle” at Chalkwell Park in Essex.
The teen was hurt after a group of people allegedly took control of the “digger” inside the park, the Daily Mail reports.
She remains in hospital in a critical condition and her family are being supported, Essex Police said.
The force arrested a man aged 18 and a boy aged 17 on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and they remain in custody.
A spokesperson said: “A group was reported to have taken unauthorised control of a small articulated loading vehicle.
“The girl is believed to have been involved in an incident with the vehicle and sustained significant injuries.
“Officers and ambulance crews attended promptly, and a cordon remains in place.”
They added: “We know there were a large number of young people in the area at the time, and we believe some may have witnessed what happened.
“We urgently need to hear from anyone with information or footage.”
Chalkwell Park was also the scene of a tragedy last year when a seven-year-old girl was killed by a falling tree.
Four other children were raced to hospital and a six-year-old girl was left in a critical condition.
